How We Think About Briefs

Teaches advisors how to write a crisp, opinionated point-of-view brief on any strategic topic — the house style for turning thinking into a one-page argument that leads to action.

Learning path

Six modules with practical application.

  1. What a point-of-view brief is for and the structure that makes it readable in two minutes and actionable in one decision
  2. Earning the right to an opinion by doing the thinking, then stating the claim sharply enough to be wrong
  3. Supporting the claim with the few pieces of evidence and the line of reasoning that actually carry it
  4. Stating the strongest case against your own claim and answering it honestly, which is what earns trust
  5. Closing with a recommendation specific enough to act on, with the owner, the next step, and the trigger to revisit
  6. Pulling the parts into one clean brief in the house voice — clear, opinionated, honest, and short
